This is the NCAA Women's Tournament rematch we've all been waiting for! Iowa takes on LSU in a star studded showdown.

Two of NCAA basketball's biggest stars, Caitlin Clark and the No.1 Iowa Hawkeyes are taking on Angel Reese and her No.3 LSU Tigers.

The two stars met back in 2023 when Iowa took on LSU in the National Championship game; the game saw Reece and the Tigers get the better of Clark and the Hawkeyes.

The matchup of last year's National Championship game, which drew a record-breaking 9.9 million viewers on ABC, gets an encore in the Elite 8 of this year's NCAA Women's Tournament.

With both teams a win away from getting another shot at the Final Four; will Caitlin Clark get her revenge against Angel Reese? Or will the Tigers be able to do enough to secure the win once again?

The defensive matchups on both sides may tell the story of this one.

Iowa's Hannah Stuelke will be guarding Angel Reese, who is coming into Monday night's game having posted a double-double in each of LSU's NCAA Women's Tournament games.

Stuelke, at 6 foot 2, would have her hands full with Reese, who is both an inch taller and possesses a physical play style. Angel Reese may prove to be too much for Stuelke to handle.

For LSU, all defensive efforts should hone in on Caitlin Clak at all costs.

Clark is undoubtedly one of the best in the game, and her 31.8 points per game indicates that she can score in volume. LSU's physical style on defense may play a massive role in how effective Caitlin Clark could be in tonight's game.

LSU needs to slow Iowa's shooting; Caitlin Clark, Kate Martin, and Gabbie Marshall have torched teams from beyond the arch throughout the NCAA Women's Tournament.

Flau'Jae Johnson is coming off a big game against UCLA, where she dropped 24 points and 12 rebounds in the victory.

Johnson scored 10 points, seven rebounds, and four assists as a freshman in last season's National Championship game for the Tigers. This year, she has improved as both a scorer and defender heading into the matchup with the Hawkeyes.

Flau'Jae Johnson could make magic happen again against Iowa with a big game performance.

On Iowa's side, Gabbie Marshall has been big-time for the Hawkeyes. Marshall is a perfect complimentary piece alongside Caitlin Clark. In finding her game, Gabbie Marshall dropped 14 points for Iowa vs. Colorado, aiding in the Hawkeyes' win.

She may need another big game to help Iowa in this one against LSU.

NCAA Women's Tournament Elite 8: New Faces in Iowa vs. LSU

This year's LSU Tigers team is a different one from last season's, one that won it all in last year's NCAA Women's Tournament.

Angel Reese and Flau'Jae Johnson still headline the team, but now with Aneesah Morrow, Mikaylah Williams, and Hailey Van Lith in place of LaDazhia Williams, Jasmine Carson, and Alexis Morris, who were all big-time for the Tigers last year.

Despite the lineup change, this LSU Tigers team is still tough and well-coached with the talent to make it a long night for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Caitlin Clark.
