Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr provided an update on star Klay Thompson's knee injury, which led to his absence from their recent road game against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday, March 29, at the Spectrum Center.

Kerr stated that Thompson began experiencing soreness in his right knee in Orlando during their previous game against the Magic last Wednesday. He still played in that game, though, scoring 15 points in 32 minutes of action.

The four-time champion felt the discomfort again during warm-ups for the game against the Hornets, as per reporter Kendra Andrews of ESPN.

After receiving an evaluation from Warriors Director of Sports Medicine and Performance Rick Celebrini, it was decided that it would be best for the 34-year-old future Hall of Famer to miss the game.

The Warriors took a comfortable 115-97 victory against the Hornets, claiming their third victory in-a-row.

Hall-of-Fame player replaced Klay Thompson in the starting lineup

Thompson was a late scratch against the Hornets due to Right Knee Tendinitis, and he was officially replaced by guard Chris Paul in the starting lineup before the game.

The sharpshooter's availability for their next game against the San Antonio Spurs remains to be determined.

The matchup against Victor Wembanyama and company is scheduled for Sunday, March 31, at the AT&T Center in San Antonio.
