Now heading into the Australian Grand Prix, Williams F1 team seems to follow the same story as last year.
Now second year driver Logan Sargeant still continues to struggle in Formula 1. Although he did finish P14 in Saudi Arabia, he may have moved up the grid at the expense of other teams and driver misfortunes. Sargeant finished ahead of two drivers suffering from DNFs (Lance Stroll and Pierre Gasly), two drivers with poor pit strategy (Kick Sauber), and was a beneficiary of Kevin Magnussen's DRS train of torture.
Williams Alexander Albon: Number One Victim of Haas DRS Train
Speaking of Magnussen's train ride, fellow Williams driver Alexander Albon also fell victim to this. With the two DNFs, minus the Alpine's, there was a point up for grabs for a Best of the Rest candidate amongst the bottom five constructors. Haas was the winner of this battle thanks to the efforts of Magnussen and pit strategy, putting Nico Hulkenberg in the final points position.
Alexander Albon finishing just out of the points in P11 puts Williams in the same old story for the 2024 season. Albon will drag the FW46 to potential points finishes, while Logan Sargeant will try to keep his races clean but at a less than desirable pace.
