The Kentucky Wildcats are no stranger to March Madness.

Head coach John Calipari has his Kentucky Wildcats back in the big dance after a strong season.

The Wildcats earned the No.3 seed in the South Region on Sunday and will face No.14 Oakland in Pittsburgh on Thursday.

Calipari and the crew have endured a great season up to this point. They went on a run towards the end of the season, winning five of their final six games, highlighted by a win against Tennessee.

The Wildcats also claimed wins over the ACC regular season champion and the 1-seed in North Carolina.

Kentucky disappointedly lost in the SEC tournament, falling to Texas A&M. Despite an early exit, they became one of eight teams in the division to play in this year's NCAA Tournament.

As a No.3 seed in the tournament, Kentucky has set themselves up for a solid chance to win it all this season; not having done so since 2012. However, it's March, and as the saying goes, anything can happen.

Kentucky Wildcats on the Run in the NCAA Tournament?

Kentucky could have what it takes to make another deep run in the NCAA tournament.

They are led by Senior Antonio Reeves, who is having a solid season averaging 20 points per game. When called upon, freshman guard Redd Sheppard has proven to be big-time for the Wildcats as well.

Calipari's experience and ability to coach in big games is what may put them over the edge. In his 15th season, Kentucky has made it to the Final Four four times and won a NCAA Tournament back in 2012.

The Wildcats would have to face a powerful opponent in Oakland. The Golden Grizzlies looked good in finishing out a strong season and winning the Horizon League.

If they can make it to the second round, they will face either the number six seed Texas Tech or 11 seed NC State.

The Wolfpack are trending upwards after taking care of business, winning their first ACC Tournament since 1987, and Texas Tech could be looking to make some noise after a solid regular season.

Calipari's experience and coaching should be enough to guide the Kentucky Wildcats to another championship, but only time will tell.
