Quarterback Russell Wilson, widely acknowledged as one of the greatest dual-threat signal callers in NFL history, will sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, as ESPN league insider Adam Schefter reported.
The 35-year-old is set to ink a team-friendly, one-year deal worth $1.2 million with the Steelers, while the Denver Broncos will cover $38 million of his salary for the 2024 season.
Wilson confirmed the move through a social media post on Sunday night, March 10. In the post, the nine-time Pro Bowl selection wrote, "Year 13. Grateful."
The announcement was accompanied by a video featuring the Steelers and their fans, which was shared on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).
Wilson is coming off a dismal two-season tenure with the Broncos, during which he achieved a passer rating of 90.9. Throughout 30 games, he amassed 6,594 yards, threw 42 touchdowns, and had 19 interceptions as the team posted an 11-19 record during this period.
The 2020 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award recipient arrived in Denver via a blockbuster trade ahead of the 2022 season following a notable ten-season tenure with the Seattle Seahawks, which included a Super Bowl win.

Steelers will get much-needed upgrade at the quarterback position
The Steelers had some of the worst quarterback production in the league last season.
Over the first 14 games of the season, 2022 first-round pick Kenny Pickett and veteran Mitchell Trubisky shared the starting role. They combined for only ten touchdowns against nine interceptions, with an average passing yardage of a modest 193 yards per game.
