Prema Racing F2 driver Oliver Bearman is set to transition to a full-time Formula 1 seat in 2025 after an impressive debut with Scuderia Ferrari at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix last Saturday, March 9, held at the Jeddah Corniche Street Circuit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Bearman filled in for Carlos Sainz Jr. on short notice, as the Spanish driver could not participate in the race due to appendicitis.

The 18-year-old English racer qualified in 11th position on Friday but displayed a remarkable performance during the main race, advancing through the grid to finish in 7th place for the night.

Bearman is now reportedly on track to secure a full-time Formula 1 seat next season with American outfit Haas, according to various British media outlets.

This opportunity resulted from a partnership with the Prancing Horse Team, involving shared resources such as engines and other assets.

"It was a great race and I loved every moment but the weekend was too short. It was over too quickly and I am now back down to earth and back down to reality but I think I did a good job out there today," Bearman said after the race.

Bearman's unexpected debut impressed several Formula 1 drivers, including seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes.

"To be pulled out of your class and put straight into a Ferrari, he did such a phenomenal job. It has showed he is a really bright future star," Hamilton said.
