Quarterback Baker Mayfield has reached a new agreement on a three-year contract to return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The deal is valued at $100 million, featuring $50 million in guaranteed money and a potential maximum value of $115 million.

"I wanted a chance to come back. I love Coach Bowles and the staff. I'm happy to be here, and I want to win more in the postseason," Mayfield said upon agreeing to the terms of the new contract, per league insider Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The recipient of the 2017 Heisman Trophy is anticipated to receive $30 million for both the 2024 and 2025 seasons, with $20 million guaranteed in 2025. This compensation is set to experience a slight uptick, reaching $40 million in its final year in 2026.

Additionally, incentives amounting to up to $5 million per year throughout the contract are possible.

Baker Mayfield's incredible comeback story

The former first-overall pick secured a one-year contract with the Buccaneers for the 2023 season after a challenging 2022 season, during which he played for both the Carolina Panthers and the Los Angeles Rams.

This previous deal, valued at up to $8.5 million, positioned him as a replacement for the retiring Tom Brady.

Experiencing a resurgence in form during the 2023 campaign, the 28-year-old quarterback demonstrated notable improvement with a passer rating of 94.6.

Mayfield played in all 17 games for Tampa Bay, amassing 4,044 passing yards, throwing 28 touchdowns, and recording ten interceptions. Notably, he earned a spot in the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career.
