With the New York Knicks continuing to struggle, team owner James Dolan could press the panic button by sending either a promising young player or a first-round draft pick for Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry.

According to NY Daily News, Dolan could be forced to reconsider the Lowry deal if his team struggles against the Atlanta Hawks during the weekend, with the Knicks owner projected to give up rookie Tim Hardaway, Jr. or a 2018 first round pick alongside point guard Raymond Felton and forward Metta World Peace.

Dolan had reportedly blocked the Lowry deal because he is reluctant to give up either Hardaway or the first round pick. It is also speculated that the Knicks owner was angry that details of the proposed deal were leaked to the media, with some rumors saying that an official within the team leaked it with the hope that a negative reaction by Knicks fans would push Dolan to pull out of the deal.

Although the Raptors want the 2018 first round pick, Toronto GM Masai Ujuri is said to amenable to acquiring Hardaway or even disgruntled guard Iman Shumpert instead. But the Knicks are also reluctant to giving away Shumpert because they want him for another deal, perhaps alongside Amar'e Stoudemire.

With a 7-16 record, the Knicks are one of the most disappointing teams in the season. Last year, they were the number two seed in the East and even defeated rival Boston in the first round of the playoffs before losing to the Indiana Pacers in six games.
