Bayern Munich star Harry Kane has potentially saved a shaky season from the club, preventing it from descending into chaos.

The 30-year-old striker netted two goals during the second leg of Bayern's round-of-16 match against Italian club Lazio, allowing Bayern to overcome a 0-1 aggregate deficit and secure a commanding 3-0 victory on Tuesday, March 5, at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.

Amid their struggles in the Bundesliga, Kane thinks a strong performance like this could turn their season around.

"Of course, we know we have to improve, but nights like this can really change the season. I'm really proud of the boys, and we just have to keep this momentum going," said the current Bundesliga top scorer.

Bayern has failed to win three of its last five league games, putting it ten points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen with 14 matches to play and on the verge of not winning the Bundesliga for the first time in 11 seasons.

Bayern overcomes 0-1 deficit

Bayern's struggles in the domestic league carried over in the Champions League when they suffered a 0-1 loss during the first leg against Lazio last month.

"It was a really important moment in our season. Everyone was looking at us, looking at how we were going to respond after the first leg," England national team's all-time leading scorer added.
