Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday, March 13, is reportedly seriously considering relocating his family to Atlanta.

This inclination strongly suggests that the 35-year-old is leaning towards joining the Atlanta Falcons for the next phase of his NFL career.

"We can't get into the specifics, for now. But we're getting very credible indications that Cousins is seriously considering moving his family to Atlanta. Which would mean, obviously, that he'd be signing with the Falcons," according to league insider Mike Florio of NBC Sports.

Aside from the Vikings, the Falcons have consistently stood out as the primary alternative choice for Cousins due to family reasons.

Cousins' wife, Julie, has roots in the area, having grown up in nearby Alpharetta, Georgia, with her parents still residing there.

Vikings want to keep Kirk Cousins under one condition

Despite their reluctance to offer him a contract before he hits free agency, the Vikings are determined to retain Cousins, albeit under their specified financial terms.

If the four-time Pro Bowl selection receives a more lucrative offer elsewhere, the Vikings will accept his departure without engaging in a bidding war.

The franchise is confident that competing offers from other destinations will not surpass their proposal.

"I know (Cousins), where he's at in this whole process. He's earned the right to be a free agent and he's played really good football," Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said at the NFL Combine last Saturday, March 2.
