The New York Giants are reportedly considering parting ways with quarterback Daniel Jones following a disappointing 2023 season.

NFL Network insider Rich Eisen said on the latest episode of his show that the team is "absolutely done" with the signal-caller.

"Might have to play him this year, but that ain't it. And they feel that ain't it. The words I heard at the combine multiple times, two words were, 'buyer's remorse.' But they have to say what they say publicly," the sports host added.

Just a year ago, the team signed Jones to a lucrative four-year contract extension amounting to $160 million, putting their faith in him as their franchise quarterback.

Daniel Jones suffered injury troubles in 2023

The 26-year-old quarterback participated in only six of the 17 regular-season games last season. His challenges began when he suffered a neck injury in a Week 5 loss to the Miami Dolphins on October 8.

After missing two games, Jones made a comeback in their Week 8 game against the Las Vegas Raiders on November 5. Unfortunately, he sustained a knee injury in the first quarter, forcing an early exit in the second quarter as his knee buckled while dropping back.

The subsequent day, the Giants declared Jones out for the season due to a torn ACL in his right knee.

For the 2023 season, Jones accumulated a passer rating of 70.5, throwing for 909 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. The Giants went 1-5 with Jones as their starter.

Rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito emerged as the team's starter late in the season, leading the team to a 3-3 record.
