The new MLB 2024 season is fast approaching, and with the major changes to several team rosters during the offseason, fans are excited for it to start.

The question is, where to watch the games they want to see?

The past years have seen a shake-up in MLB's broadcasting rights, the most prominent of which is the bankruptcy of Diamond Sports in 2022.

The company owns 18 local sports networks with Bally Sports, including broadcast rights to several professional sports teams-11 in baseball, 11 in the National Hockey League, and 15 in the National Basketball Association.

Amazon is the company that served as its savior after striking a deal that would let Diamond Sports air its content through Prime Video.

Diamond Sports will continue broadcasting MLB games for now. Amazon has direct-to-consumer rights in airing games that the Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Miami Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers, and Tampa Bay Rays are involved in.

Several national broadcast channels will also return to air MLB 2024 season games.

For streaming, MLB games will be available on streaming services such as YouTube TV, Sling TV, Hulu + Live TV, or fuboTV. They will also be available on FOX, FS1, TBS, ESPN, or MLB Network, although that depends on the package available to the users.

Where to watch In-Market and Out-of-Market games?

In-market games are those that are available on local television channels. Out-of-market games are those that are not shown in a viewer's local area.

What happens if the specific games MLB fans want to watch are not anywhere on broadcast channels?

Extra Innings and MLB TV are the answers.

The former is a cable TV subscription package wherein viewers can access out-of-market MLB games on television through their participating pay-TV providers.

The latter is a streaming package fans can avail to watch and view out-of-market MLB games live and on demand. Unlike Extra Innings, MLB.TV is available on supported mobile devices.

MLB.TV games will be available through T-Mobile, an MLB friend, through 2028 after the company and the league completed a new deal last year.

A year-long subscription to MLB.TV is set at $150. This covers all out-of-market games. Free subscription will be available via T-Mobile from March 26 to April 2, 2024.

This platform offers a massive library of on-demand games and videos, too. Fans can stream pre-selected games daily, even without an MLB TV subscription.

The MLB 2024 season opening day is on March 28. Among the biggest storylines are Texas Rangers' title defense, the Los Angeles Dodgers' new era with two-time AL MVP in tow, and Juan Soto's highly-anticipated debut with the New York Yankees.
