The Minnesota Timberwolves are riding high as the Number one seed in the Western Conference following the All-Star Break and having one of the best seasons in franchise history; with Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards leading the way.

Towns had some high praise for his teammate, Anthony Edwards, in making a bold statement about his potential.

During a guest appearance on ESPN's First Take, Towns discussed what makes Anthony Edwards such a great player and claimed that he will be the face of the NBA.

"He brings a smile to all of our faces; I think when he plays the game, he's playing right now; I think he's one of the top players in the NBA. And then you mix that in with the charisma and personality," Towns said.

"He is a huge boost for our locker room as well."

He adds," Anthony Edwards is special. He hates when I say it, but he's gonna be the face of the NBA sooner than later. We just super honored we get to play with him and we all get to help him in this process in maturing and becoming the face. I think the future is very bright for him."

It's clear that Towns, along with other players throughout the league view Edwards in high regard.

Warriors forward Draymond Green has also had high praise for the All-Star swingman. Appearing on Jeff Teagues Club 520 podcast, Draymond praised Edwards for how good he is.

"Ant (Anthony Edwards) talks more than anybody, by the way, and he's so good that there's not much you can say. Like I'm going to go there with you, like I'm going to talk nonstop, but he talks to everybody, and he's that good, so there's not much you can really do or say. He knows he's good, and that's dangerous, and he's carrying that team, which is nuts because they've got some guys that have lost a lot on that team, and he's carrying them like they some winners. That's a special gift man," said Green.

Discussing Timberwolves Anthony Edwards

There Is no doubt that Anthony Edwards has the potential to be the face of the league; he is currently averaging 26.2 points per game, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game while proving to be the driving force to the Timberwolves winning ways this season.

The two-time all-star is only 22 and has yet to reach his full potential as an NBA player, there seems to be no ceiling as to how good he can be.

Edwards is definitely on the league's short list of potential faces of the NBA who can carry the torch when players like Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James call it a career.

The Wolves will take on a struggling Milwaukee Bucks team tonight after a couple of days off.

A matchup between Edwards and Giannis, two players who can likely take that mantle. The match should be exciting and a great assessment to see if Edwards has what it takes to be one of the true stars within the NBA.
