After former NBA player and host of the Old Man and the Three Podcast JJ Redick took to First Take to eviscerate his former head coach Doc Rivers for the Bucks 3-7 start since taking over the Milwaukee Bucks, saying he has failed to take accountability for the most part.

Austin Rivers came to the defense of his father, after JJ Redick scorched him.

"For someone who's not accountable, he seems to always be held responsible," Austin Rivers said. "I have some love for JJ. You're my Dukie; you're my bro. I love you."

He then added that Redick, who was Rivers' teammate while they were on the Los Angeles Clippers together, had his best years under Doc in LA and questioned why he would attack his father.

Austin Rivers added, "your best years in the NBA were when you played for him and the Clippers. Let's not forget that. I don't know if there's frustration there or there's tension between you."

"I know a lot of the time we had to sit you at the end of the game due to defense ... it's just very ironic and kind of weird that you have this energy toward him, in terms of him never, ever being accountable considering he was always responsible," Rivers said.

Both Redick and the younger Rivers played under Doc and the Clippers. Redick played for four seasons there, while Austin would join the team later on in Doc's tenure as coach of the Clippers.

Doc's son is not the only player to come to his defense. Milwaukee Bucks backup point guard took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to defend his head coach.

"This Man Doc actually saved your career," Beverley responded on social media. "Started you when no one else wanted 2. And you retire , go on TV and say that. @jj_redick."

JJ then clapped back saying, "Pat my guy I had a four year offer with a player option for the same money to be a starter for a different team. FOH 'saved my career.'"

Doc Rivers with the Milwaukee Bucks

Rivers' time in Milwaukee has been rough since being hired as the new head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. He was hired mid-season after the Bucks fired Adrian Griffin.

Despite having two of the best players in the league, Rivers has struggled and thus the team has dropped from second in the East to third going into the All-Star break.
