NBA Trade Deadline: Nets Royce O'Neale to Suns

The Brooklyn Nets are sending Royce O'Neale to the Phoenix Suns for three second-round picks, per the Athletic.

It's a three-team trade involving the Memphis Grizzlies also sending David Roddy to the Suns for three second-round picks,

Arizona Sports' John Gambado has reported the Suns are giving up four players in the deal, sending Chimezie Metu, Jordan Goodwin, and Keita Bates-Diop to Brooklyn.

Forward Yuta Watanabe is expected to be routed from Phoenix to the Grizzlies.

O'Neal currently averages 7.4 points along with 4.5 rebounds in 24.5 minutes, playing in his seventh season in the NBA. He was traded to the Nets during the 2022 offseason after spending five years with the Utah Jazz.

Last season he was traded to the Nets, however, only played 37 games with Kevin Durant, who got traded to Phoenix.

O'Neale is in the final year of his four-year 26 million dollar contract and he could enter this summer as an unrestricted free agent.

While the 6 foot 4 guard, Roddy, was drafted by the Grizzlies with the No.23 pick in the 2022 NBA draft. He hasn't seen much playing time in his young career. However, he has received more playing time throughout this season for the Grizzlies.

Though Roddy might struggle to crack the Suns' rotation, while O'Neal would join a Suns squad with championship aspirations.

Yuta Watanabe rejoins the Grizzlies, where he played his first two seasons in the league. Throughout his time with the Suns, he didn't see much playing time, averaging 3.6 points and 1.6 rebounds in 29 games.
