Our second F1 car reveal for the Formula 1 2024 season was Williams, as they gave us a peek earlier this morning at their car design for this year.

Williams calls back this year's livery to the colorway of their cars in the 1980s and 1990s, where the Williams manufacture saw great success. This year's FW46 highlights their iconic blue color of that time period along with paying allegiance back to sponsor Komatsu, who they just signed a multi-year partnership with and previously had relations with during their last stint of success almost four decades ago.

Williams Looks to Chase Past Success

From the 80s-90s the British constructor saw years of dominance similar to Mercedes of the recent decade. At that time Williams had won nine constructors' championships and seven drivers championships.

This year Williams looks to build upon their progress in 2023. The young talented Thai-British driver Alex Albon and American second year driver Logan Sargeant hope to speed forward in the championship ranks. Albon carried 99% of the load last season, scoring 27 of Williams' 28 points last season, putting them in seventh place for the 2023 season.

Last year we saw the Williams impress on straight line speed, but lacked in other efficiencies. Another Achilles heel of the British Formula One team was the performance of Sargeant, as he totaled the car more often than putting up championship points. The American driver hopes to show improvement in his second year.

Manager James Vowles is both proud of Williams' progress and looks to continue to build off their recent rise in the rankings from last year. Vowles stats,

"Since joining Williams Racing a year ago, I've seen this team pull together to overcome a number of challenges and claim seventh in the Constructors' Championship, which meant a great deal for everyone involved. We've also shown the world that we're building the foundations for moving forward."
