The Kansas City Chiefs are heading to Super Bowl 58 after defeating the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, January 28, at the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland.
Amid the team's jubilant celebrations, one of the most famous people in the world today graced the field to join the Chiefs as they lifted the Lamar Hunt Trophy.
Pop sensation Taylor Swift, who is in a romantic relationship with Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce, shared the excitement alongside Chiefs fans.
Sharp-eyed fans observed that the 12-time Grammy Award winner engaged in a playful exchange of pointing gestures with Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.
How did Andy Reid know Taylor Swift before Travis Kelce?
During an episode of the podcast "Let's Go! With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, and Jim Gray," released on Tuesday, January 30, Reid shared that he has a longstanding relationship with Swift.
The two-time Super Bowl mentor disclosed that he had already been acquainted with Swift from his time in Philadelphia. Her dad, Scott Swift, played college football at the University of Delaware and was a football enthusiast. Reid had previously met both of them in the City of Brotherly Love.
Reid had served as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles from 2001 to 2012, suggesting that their initial meeting likely occurred during this time frame.
Meanwhile, Swift was born and raised in Pennsylvania, specifically in West Reading. The family later moved to a rented house in the suburban town of Wyomissing in the same state, which was roughly an hour away from Philly.
Travis Kelce's reaction to Andy Reid and Taylor Swift's connection
Reid also shared Kelce's reaction upon learning about Swift's familiarity with him.
"She told him, 'I know your coach. And he went, 'Oh, God, come on!,'" the 65-year-old shared on the podcast.
The Chiefs head coach also commended the couple for effectively managing their relationship amid immense publicity, emphasizing that it has not posed a distraction for the team.
"She's a good girl. And I'm happy for Trav. And there has been no distraction that way at all. Trav's handled it right, she's handled it right and we just move forward. So it hasn't been a problem at all," Reid assured.
Meanwhile, Jason Kelce discussed the viral picture of Swift and Reid on the January 31 episode of the "New Heights" podcast, which he co-hosts with Travis.
Travis shared his thoughts on the moment, also disclosing that Scott Swift, whom he has a playful nickname for, is a good friend of Reid's.
"Shoutout to big Scott [Swift]. Him and Andy are good friends. That was a cool moment to see afterwards. I didn't get to see it because I was up on the stage screaming, 'Fight for your right.' Yeah, that was a cool one," the Chiefs tight end said.
