Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen is one of the top quarterbacks in the league today, leading his team to consistent playoff appearances and division titles ever since being promoted to the starting signal-caller role.

The Bills selected the 27-year-old with the seventh overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft after four seasons of college football, in which he spent his freshman year with Reedley College and the rest with the Wyoming Cowboys.

Allen experienced a breakout season in 2020, marking his third year in the league. He concluded the season as the runner-up to Aaron Rodgers in the NFL MVP voting, having set franchise records for passing yards with 4,544 and touchdown throws with 37.

Josh Allen Contract: $258 million

In the summer of 2021, Allen committed to a six-year contract extension worth $258 million, including $150 million in total guaranteed money to continue his tenure with the Bills. This agreement secures his presence in Buffalo until the conclusion of the 2028 NFL season.

The agreement stood as the second most lucrative in NFL history at its signing. As of the 2023 season, it currently ranks as the fifth largest NFL contract, according to Boadroom.

It trails only the contracts of Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals, Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers, and Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens. Notably, three of these contracts were negotiated during the 2023 offseason.

Josh Allen Career Earnings

By the conclusion of the 2023 NFL season, it is anticipated that Allen will have amassed $113 million in terms of NFL salary throughout his initial six seasons in the league, as reported by Spotrac.

It's important to note that this figure does not encompass supplementary earnings from off-field ventures like endorsements and partnerships.

Additionally, it does not account for deductions stemming from taxes, agent fees, and other business expenses.

Factoring in the remaining years of his mammoth deal, Allen is projected to accumulate $302.6 million in career earnings by the end of his contract after the 2028 NFL season if he remains healthy and completes specific incentives.

Allen would be either 31 or 32 years old once his next contract is negotiated.

Josh Allen Salary 2023

During their recently concluded 2023 NFL season, Allen garnered a total income of $28 million.

Within this sum, his base salary was $1.08 million, accompanied by a $500,000 workout bonus. Notably, the bulk of his earnings came from a substantial $26.42 million restructuring bonus provided by the team.

His salary in 2023 was down from his total compensation of $46.9 million in 2022, which included an option bonus worth $42.3 million. The bonus propelled him to make the business and financial outlet Forbes' list of the world's highest-paid athletes in 2022, ranking 16th.

For the 2024 NFL season, the two-time Pro Bowl selection is set to earn $30 million. The figure consists of a base salary worth $23.5 million, a roster bonus incentive of $6 million, and a workout bonus of $500,000.
