They say it is not how you start but how you finish.

That is what the Dallas Cowboys are doing in the 2023 season.

Coach Sean McCarthy's squad already clinched a playoff spot with an 11-5 record with one game to go against the Washington Commandeers, whom they are expected to walk over.

They went 4-2 in their last six, including impressive wins against the Detroit Lions, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Seattle Seahawks. They lost to the Miami Dolphins by just two points.

Can they keep this momentum and win everything and win the Super Bowl?

The Super Bowl is still multiple playoff games away, and Coach McCarthy does not want his team to get ahead of themselves.

"I think we all clearly understand how hard it is to win a game each and every week," McCarthy told reporters.

"I think if there's ever a time in our season where we just got to really lock down and keep the blinders on because it's right in front of us, and everything we've been doing in Washington."

That is a natural way to go about things-one step at a time.

However, the Cowboys can win it all, and fans don't have to stop themselves from dreaming of an NFL title, something they haven't experienced for almost two decades.

The Dallas Cowboys might be a good choice because they have the wares to win it all, ranked number five according to the NFL's Adam Schein. That might sound low, but the NFL can be unpredictable.

Four reasons the Cowboys can win Super Bowl LVIII:

1. Defense won't be absent for them.

Defense wins championships may sound old, but it is true in many ways. The Cowboys' defense, led by Micah Parsons, is in the Top 5 of defensive rankings this season.

Their defensive yards average is at 307.2 to rank eighth place, while their passing yards allowed average is in fifth place at 190.9

Points allowed are also good for the fifth spot at 19.1

They do not top any list of defensive stats, but they are consistently in the Top 10 in major categories. Teams have something to be scared about in a winner-take-all game. The offense may misfire, but their defense can do it for them.

2. Dak Prescott is at the MVP level.

Prescott has been playing as if he got the Cowboys' teammates on a string, commanding plays and completing them efficiently and accurately.

He has so far completed 70.6 percent of his passes (127 of 180) that led to 1,602 yards. He assisted in 17 touchdowns with just two interceptions. Those stats mean he can pierce through any defense.

3. Conquered pressure.

The Cowboys have learned to excel under pressure. The best evidence of that is their win against the Lions in Week 17.

It may be a controversial victory, but it showed McCarthy's squad's ability to perform in crunch time against a good team.

Micah Parsons delivered as usual, and Ceedee Lamb embraced the spotlight, finishing with 13 receptions for 227 yards and a touchdown.

4. McCarthy is making good use of talent.

The current Cowboys roster is regarded as the most talented the team has seen in years, but it would not perform to the expected level if not for McCarthy's design.

Their offense is diverse, and they now have many targets for various plays. Brandin Cooks, tight end Jake Ferguson, running back Tony Pollard, and Rico Dowdle had their moments in different games and helped their team win.

McCarthy also knows how to adjust when coming from a loss or on the fly.
