The Alabama Crimson Tide has carved out an illustrious history of championship triumphs, securing six national titles since Nick Saban assumed the helm in 2007.

Their national title victories came in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, and most recently in 2020.

Despite this storied legacy, the current season didn't see the Crimson Tide initially pegged as frontrunners for the national championship.

Yet, under Saban's leadership, they clinched a spot in the College Football Playoff (CFP) after their 2023 SEC championship victory, amassing a 12-1 record overall for the year.

Nevertheless, as they navigate their journey in the CFP, there are specific areas the team must hone and improve upon to bolster their chances of securing yet another title, especially with other powerhouse teams on the way.

3 Problems Crimson Tide Need to Fix to Win National Title:

1. Alabama gives up a lot of sacks.

Alabama's offensive line struggled significantly this season, yielding 43 sacks and averaging 3.31 per game.

This figure ranks them second-highest in the SEC, nearly doubling the number of sacks they allowed throughout 13 games the previous year.

There have been instances where the offensive line has been notably vulnerable and exposed, and part of the issue stems from quarterback Jalen Milroe holding onto the ball longer than necessary.

2. Alabama's lack of experience.

Despite having a rich history of winning titles, this year's Crimson Tide squad is full of players who weren't with the team since they last won a championship in 2020.

One of them is Jalen Milroe, who is stepping into his role as a first-year starting quarterback after being a backup in his first two seasons. He showcased commendable performances this year despite limited experience in high-stakes games.

The 21-year-old notably guided the Crimson Tide to the 2023 SEC championship victory over the Georgia Bulldogs.

3. Alabama's lack of firepower.

Unlike most of their squads during the Nick Saban era, Alabama doesn't have a standout running back or wide receiver.

A senior running back, Jase McClellan, tops Alabama's rushing charts with 803 yards and six touchdowns.

Unfortunately, he missed the Georgia game due to a foot injury, casting doubt on his availability for the upcoming Rose Bowl against Michigan, which serves as the semifinal for the CFP on January 1 at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California.
