The Dallas Cowboys have a stellar lineup with stars such as Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons, and CeeDee Lamb. Although Jerry Jones may have the money to afford their contracts, is it sustainable?

Jones is aware that these players will sometimes want more money, perhaps bigger than what they are getting right now. Once that time comes, how does he intend to deal with it?

The 81-year-old had a response to this looming predicament, something shared by Jon Machota of The Athletic.

"You want to have a number of players that could cause you to have a Super Bowl winning team. (But) you're gonna have to fit a square peg in a round hole when the time comes. I'll gladly worry about that. ... We'll work it when we get there."

Cowboys can breathe easy for now

Looking at the three players mentioned, the contracts of Prescott and Lamb will expire in 2025. As for Parsons, his will run out in 2026, per Spotrac.

Hence, Jones would rather savor what the Cowboys have right now and worry about the money needed to keep these players around.

Will the Cowboys be in another Amari Cooper situation?

Once the salary issue goes beyond the control of the Cowboys, there could be players that may have to be let go.

It is something that Dallas has dealt with in the past, particularly the Amari Cooper trade in March 2022. Much as they didn't want to, the Cowboys had to deal away the wide receiver to the Cleveland Browns as they tried to clear cap space per ClevelandBrowns.com.

Parsons or Lamb could follow the same fate. Jones is likely aware of this but would rather deal with it once it is inevitable.
