New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito has been a hometown hero for his team by guiding them to a surprising string of victories.

Born and raised in New Jersey, DeVito played his first three college football seasons with Syracuse from 2017 to 2021. He then made a transfer to Illinois for the 2022 season.

Despite going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, the 25-year-old swiftly secured an NFL contract shortly after the event by signing with his hometown team, the New York Giants.

Following the loss of starting quarterback Daniel Jones for the season due to an ACL injury in November and backup Tyrod Taylor for a few weeks due to a rib injury, DeVito assumed the role of the main signal-caller for the team.

Since then, the Giants have won three games in a row, claiming wins over the Washington Commanders, New England Patriots, and the Green Bay Packers during the last month while still hunting for a playoff spot.

Let's take a look at Tommy DeVito's salary and contract details.

Tommy DeVito Contract: $2.7 million

DeVito inked a three-year contract with the Giants valued at $2,705,000. The agreement includes a $10,000 base salary guarantee and a signing bonus of $10,000.

After going undrafted, the quarterback's New Jersey roots played a pivotal role in his choice to sign with the Giants. He opted for the Giants even when there were reports that the Washington Commanders had offered him a substantially larger contract.

Notably, he also had contract offers from the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams, while the New York Jets extended an offer for a tryout.

Tommy DeVito Career Earnings

DeVito has earned $677,667 in the NFL for his rookie year so far, according to figures from Spotrac.

DeVito enjoys retaining a significant portion of his earnings by opting to reside at his parents' house, which is logical.

Their home is conveniently located just nine miles from the Giants' practice facility and the MetLife Stadium, making it a mere 12-minute drive away. The set-up also allows DeVito to focus solely on football.

"I don't have to worry about laundry, what I'm eating for dinner, chicken cutlets and all that is waiting for me when I get there. My mom still makes my bed. Everything is handled for me. Honestly, I don't even know if I could find a place closer to [the Giants' facility] than where I live," DeVito revealed.

Tommy DeVito Salary

Per the NFL's minimum salary for a rookie in an entire 17-game season, DeVito is slated to earn at least $750,000 for the ongoing 2023 NFL season, according to Sporting News.

Additionally, the New Jersey native is set to receive a prorated salary of approximately $44,000 per week for each game he remains on the Giants' active roster throughout the remainder of the season.

With several games left in the season, DeVito stands to earn considerably more than initially projected for his first professional campaign.

In the 2024 season, DeVito's base salary is slated to increase to $915,000, and it is expected to surpass the million-dollar mark in 2025, reaching $1.03 million if he remains on the roster.
