Stefon Diggs' name has been attached to several trade rumors since the start of the season, and it does not help that the Buffalo Bills are being mediocre half a season on.
The team is trying to muffle trade noises, saying they are focused on the current season, but ten weeks on, the rumors keep getting louder.
Stefon's brother adds fuel to the fire
The Bills suffered a stunning loss at the hands of the Denver Broncos last week, and frustration was felt all around, even by Stefon Diggs' brother Trevon, who plays for the Dallas Cowboys. Diggs was targeted just five times in the game.
The loss put them at 5-5. They recovered this week with a 32-6 victory over the lowly New York Jets.
What the young Diggs posted on X shapes the conversation concerning Stefon's future.
Trevon suggested that his brother leave the Bills and criticized Bills QB Josh Allen.
Asked about his brother's social media post, Stefon explained that he had nothing to do with it and that is "something you're going to have to ask my brother."
"I'm not responsible for how other people feel," Diggs told reporters.
"Anybody in this room for that matter. A reporter, a player, even my own brother. I love my brother, and the space my brother is coming from is my family. You want to know how he feels, you gotta take it up with him."
Gronk thinks the tweet is a 'reliable source'
The Diggs brothers grew up close and are very open to each other. Stefon, 28, even served as Trevon's nanny while their mother was away for work.
Stefon, who signed a four-year, $96 million deal last year, distanced himself from his brother's post. However, things have been said, and now, the media and pundits think the post is a wick that has already been lit up. It is just a matter of time before the candle that is Stefon's time with Bills will melt.
Rob Gronkowski thinks Trevon's tweet is something.
"I don't know what the problem is with Stefon Diggs," Gronk said. "I don't know why his brother is tweeting that out like that. I think there's some serious beef behind it if his brother is tweeting that. It's not any fake news or anything. It's a reliable source."
Stefon's cryptic post
Diggs' and Bills' start to the 2023 season was not that pretty after the three-time Pro Bowler and one-time first-team All-Pro missed a mandatory training camp in July.
He also used his social media accounts to express his frustration and unhappiness. However, he did not explicitly say what triggered those emotions or if Bills had something to do with them.
Things were smoothened out just in time for the start of the new season, but their performance on the field is a different story.
The drama concerning Diggs just never dies.
Stefon insisted that his focus right now is the team. However, he warned about "treading lightly" when talking about his family.
"I have said the same thing over and over," Stefon Diggs said last week.
"So when you draw a conclusion as to how I feel in my foreseeable future here, I have never said anything but: I'm a Buffalo Bill. I give it everything I got. I'm a professional, and I treat this game as such."
