Bill Belichick will undeniably go down as one of the most successful coaches in the NFL. Some may argue, given the New England Patriots' current struggles, but his past accomplishment is a feat that would be hard to match.
Things haven't been looking up for Belichick since Tom Brady left the Pats. Most hoped he could weave the same magic with Cam Newton and Mac Jones. Unfortunately, that has not happened, and most are writing him off as one of the better coaches the NFL has had.

Here are some reasons why Bill Belichick has a strong case for being the NFL coaching GOAT:
1. Belichick won Super Bowls before the Tom Brady era.
Most forget that before the Patriots, Belichick won Super Bowls without Brady. Those two rings came when he was part of the New York Giants in the 1986 and 1990 seasons.
Although he was not the head coach, it is worth noting that Belichick played a part in those Super Bowl wins. The most notable was when he was with the New York Giants against the Buffalo Bills. Belichick's defensive game plan was credited for that 20-19 win over the Bills. It has since been placed in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, per SI.com.
2. Belichick knows how to build winners.
As a head coach, there is no question that Belichick proved himself with the Patriots.
Getting that chance in 2000, he made the necessary adjustments and delivered the first Super Bowl in Patriots history in 2001. It was Belichick's defensive brilliance once more at work after the Pats shocked the St. Louis Rams for the title that year, the Boston Globe reported.
Tom Brady did his part, as well as the team's QB. Super Bowl XXXVI was his first one, leading to five other Super Bowls when he was still with the Pats. Brady's remaining Super Bowl was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Super Bowl LV, where the Bucs defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, 31-9. After that, Brady's career took a different turn, and the future NFL Hall of Famer retired for good.
After his run, Brady paid tribute to Belichick as one of the best coaches in NFL history.
3. Belichick owns the most Super Bowl wins.
Finally, Belichick is the coach with the most NFL wins. Brady deserves credit for his quarterbacking, but most overlook the defensive genius of the 71-year-old head coach.
Most point out that he cannot win Super Bowls without a talented quarterback like Brady. Newton was talented but had issues, while Jones was still rough around the edges.
With the Patriots struggling and well on their way to missing the NFL playoffs again, most see Belichick possibly parting ways with New England.
However, some teams could make sense if he chooses to continue coaching.
That alone proves that Belichick is a good coach and may still win more Super Bowls under the right conditions.
