Philadelphia 76ers guard Kelly Oubre was involved in a scary accident after he was struck by a motor vehicle while walking outside of his home in Center City, Philadelphia, on Saturday, November 11. Fortunately, his condition was reported as stable.
However, as a result of the accident, Oubre suffered multiple injuries and received medical attention at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Philadelphia police reported that Oubre was hit in the chest by a vehicle traveling at a high speed. Following the incident, the suspected car fled the scene.
"He's back home and he's doing OK. It's a pretty traumatic incident [but] he is home and resting fairly comfortably. That's where we are right now," Sixers head coach Nick Nurse said during a pre-game interview before their game against the Indiana Pacers.

Kelly Oubre Jr. playing best basketball of his career
Entering his ninth season in the NBA, Oubre inked a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers on a veteran minimum one-year contract in September.
This arrangement is set to earn him $2,019,706 for the 2023-24 season, as reported by HoopsHype.
Oubre Jr. opted for a substantial pay cut with the Sixers, considering he earned more than $12 million in the previous four seasons with the Charlotte Hornets, Golden State Warriors, and Phoenix Suns.

The sacrifice proved worthy for the former Kansas standout, as he played the best basketball of his career with the Sixers before the accident.
Through eight games this season, Oubre Jr. has averaged 16.3 points on 50 percent shooting from the field, 37.8 percent from three-point distance, and 78.6 percent from the free throw line.
In addition, he has also contributed 5.1 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.4 blocks, and 1.4 steals in 29 minutes per contest, per Basketball Reference.
Oubre Jr. was also promoted to the starting lineup in his last five games after forward P.J. Tucker was shipped out of the team as part of the trade that sent star guard James Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers on October 31.
The swingman significantly contributed to the Sixers' spectacular start this season, where they currently have the best record in the NBA at 8-1.
