Players' chemistry is sometimes heralded as the X-factor in a basketball team's campaign.
Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green thinks they did not have that last season. They are getting that fixed now with the help of the newest Dub and point god, Chris Paul.
The former Defensive Player of the Year detailed how the mood changed in their practice and the locker room.
"Last season's Warriors chemistry was 'horses***', but now 'you see the joy on guys' faces when they come in the building."
The Dubs started the 2022-2023 season in a deep scandal after Green was caught on video punching Jordan Poole, now with the Washington Wizards, in exchange for CP3.
Young players thankful for CP3's arrival
CP3 is not that popular among veteran Warriors due to their battles in the past season, but now, they see him as a glue that holds them together.
The young players are thrilled with the presence of Paul, who became a go-to mentor for young players in the later part of his career.
"That's my guy, man," Kuminga said of CP3. "Telling me where I need to be on the floor. Telling me places where I need to be to get my shit going. Just small instructions, man. Small details."
Big man Kevon Looney echoed Kuminga's view.
"He's good at knowing when to say things and knowing how to hold guys accountable and different things like that," he said.
"It's good to have two guys like that. Draymond always been the guy, but that's putting a lot on him that he'll be the only guy yelling at us, so he's got somebody else that's with a résumé like his and just backing that same message, makes everything make more sense."
