The Golden State Warriors appear to be back to their old winning ways on the road, and head coach Steve Kerr is making sure their future opponents will be ready.
So far, for the 2023-24 season, the Dubs are 3-0 on the road. This was after the Warriors routed the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday, October 30, at the Smoothie King Center, CBS Sports reported.
After the game, Warriors coach Steve Kerr made a strong statement about Golden State's road-winning record while addressing last season's struggles.
"Last year was the outlier. We've always been a great road team," Kerr said via Anthony Slater of The Athletic.
Curry catching up with the greats
Stephen Curry led the Warriors with a game-high 42 points, his second 40-point game for the 2023-24 NBA season. His performance also updated his place in the NBA record books, tying Karl Malone and Elgin Baylor for the fourth most 40-point games in league history, SI.com reported.
The two-time NBA MVP now has three 40-point games since turning 35 years old. He is just behind LeBron James, Michael Jordan, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most such games in NBA history for a player his age.
Another 40-point game will allow the four-time NBA champion to tie Jabbar and put him within six of Jordan.
It was the third-straight win for Kerr and the Warriors after dropping their season opener to the Phoenix Suns, 108-104. After a three-game road trip, the Dubs prepare for De'Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings at the Chase Center on Wednesday, November 1.
