The Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic UFC 295 main event has unfortunately been put on hold following reports that "Bones" reportedly suffered an injury per UFC President Dana White.

The Jones vs. Miocic main event at UFC 295 was initially set for November 11 at Madison Square Garden. Unfortunately, "Bones" suffered a torn pectoral tendon of the bone during training on Monday, October 23, forcing the promotion to call off the clash, ESPN reported.

It was added by the outlet that Jones will need to undergo surgery, something that will keep him out for about eight months.

As for Miocic, the 41-year-old will reportedly be no longer in the cards for UFC 295. In place of the canceled main event will be the light heavyweight clash between former champion JiYí Procházka and Alex Pereira.

UFC 295 cards updated

Aside from the new main event featuring Prochazka and Pereira, White said that an interim heavyweight title bout will also be in the cards. This clash will pit Sergei Pavlovich against Tom Aspinall for the interim heavyweight title, USA Today reported.

Stipe Miocic left to wait

It was an unfortunate turn of events for Miocic, who was picked by some to prevail over Jones. Among them is Francis Ngannou, someone that the 41-year-old faced in the past.

The 37-year-old shared his thoughts on the now-canceled Jones vs. Miocic clash on "Shak MMA" and explained why he was siding with the former two-time heavyweight champion via SI.com.

"[If I had to pick a winner] it would have to be Stipe," Ngannou quipped. "I mean he fought [Daniel Cormier] three times and you can see how he fought, yeah - and also this is a different weight class for Jon Jones. This is heavyweight and I think it's slightly different than light heavyweight," he added.
