The Dallas Mavericks will have their hands full when they face the Victor Wembanyama-led San Antonio Spurs in their season opener on October 25. Aware of the tallest NBA player's size and skill, the Mavs have resorted to unusual measures led by one of their assistant coaches, God Shammgod.

A clip of the Mavericks practice has gone viral, with Shammgod using artificial limbs to simulate Wembanyama's 8-foot wingspan. The viral video clip has since garnered over 1.4 million views.

From the clip shared by Brad Townsend of the "Dallas Morning News," God Shamggod could be seen shouting "Wemby! Wemby" as he was trying to extend and defend Kyrie Irving, Sports Illustrated reported.

While seeing Shamggod with pad arms was hilarious, it was an ingenious way to get the players ready for the towering presence of Wemby. Aside from Irving, other Mavericks players who were tested include Tim Hardaway Jr. and Seth Curry.

"It's hard to find someone 7'5" as talented as Victor is," Mavs head coach Jason Kidd said to reporters after practice via CBS News.

Will Wemby be enough for Spurs?

The San Antonio Spurs hope to have a better season with Wembanyama at the helm. However, the reality is that Wemby needs help from other players on the Spurs roster.

The first overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft will be a problem for most teams. However, the other question is how long Wembanyama can last in a game for San Antonio. Moreover, it remains to be seen if the French behemoth can play extended minutes and last the full 82-game regular season schedule.
