Cleveland Browns' Deshaun Watson had already been ruled out for their Week 6 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, and there remains no sign he is close to returning to action.

Worse, the latest Browns injury update on Deshaun Watson will worry Cleveland fans even more.

The three-time Pro Bowler said there is no timetable for returning to active NFL duty when he spoke to reporters via ESPN. This was after an MRI revealed that the 28-year-old suffered a microtear in the rotator cuff muscle.

"We just gotta continue to take it day-to-day. I'm not gonna put the team in jeopardy if I can't do certain things that is gonna allow us to be handicapped in certain situations. That's the reason why I haven't been able to step on the field," Watson said to reporters.

Watson has not played since September 24 in the Browns 27-3 victory over the Tennessee Titans. In his last performance, the 2020 NFL passing yards leader finished the game throwing 289 yards on 27 passes and two touchdowns, per Cleveland.com.

Since then, the Browns have turned to P.J. Walker for quarterbacking duties. He was a key figure in the Browns' 19-17 win over the 49ers last Sunday, October 15. When Watson went out, Rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson had the opportunity but fared miserably in Cleveland's humiliating 28-3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Hence, Walker will need to hold up the fort for the Browns for now and buy Watson time. Unfortunately, the Browns are left in a precarious situation, although they currently sport a respectable 3-2 win-loss record.
