The Jacksonville Jaguars are set to face the New Orleans Saints on Thursday, October 19, and the latest Trevor Lawrence injury update should ramp up their chances.

Trevor Lawrence injured his knee last Sunday, October 15, in the Jaguars victory over the Colts, 37-20. The 24-year-old got sacked with about three minutes left in the game. However, the top pick of the 2021 NFL Draft was able to walk off the field on his own, CBS Sports reported.

It appears that Lawrence avoided any major injury but will still undergo an MRI. When asked about it, Jaguars coach Doug Pederson told reporters that Lawrence is listed as "day to day," according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Trevor Lawrence determined to play against the Saints

According to Lawrence, his left knee has improved rapidly in the last couple of days, and he is confident he will be ready to play against New Orleans, ESPN reported.

"I feel a lot better today than I would've thought. So I like how I'm progressing, and I'm going to do everything I can to be out there on Thursday," Lawrence said. "It's progressed really well through the past 24, 48 hours. So, really like where it's at," the former Clemson Tiger added.

Trevor Lawrence was a limited participant in the Jaguars' practice on Tuesday. He wore a brace on his left leg. However, he participated in individual drills as backup QB C.J. Beathard took on most first-team reps.

When asked about their next game, Beathard said he would not be surprised if Lawrence would be ready to play against the Saints.

"He's as tough as they come, and I know he's doing anything and everything he can to be ready to play," Beathard said. "That's still very likely that he plays this week."
