Oakland Athletics reliever Trevor May is calling it a career, announcing his retirement on Tuesday, October 18. However, the 34-year-old did not go out quietly, ripping team owner John Fisher and suggesting that he sell the MLB franchise to someone else.

"I have decided to step away from the game and that decision has come from a place of peace that I was able to find through all of the trials and support that I received this year," May said in a text message to the Associated Press.

However, the Trevor May retirement announcement also included the true feelings of the 34-year-old reliever on the management. He gave Fisher some brutal advice on what to do with the MLB team.

"Sell the team, dude. ... Sell it, man,″ the MLB veteran said. "Let someone who actually, like, takes pride in the things they own, own something. There's actually people who give a s--- about the game. Let them do it. Take mommy and daddy's money somewhere else, d*rk," he added.

The Athletics did not fare well this season, finishing with a 50-112 win-loss record. It was the worst record in baseball. The A's have routinely ended up with the lowest payroll in the MLB.

Fisher became the majority owner of the Oakland Athletics in 2005 and is planning to relocate the A's to Las Vegas after talks for a new stadium in the Bay Area fell through, the Seattle Times reported.

"There's nothing weaker than being afraid of cameras. ... Do what you're going to do, bro. Whatever, you're a billionaire, they exist, you guys have all this power - you shouldn't have any because you haven't earned any of it, but anyway, whatever," May rued.
