The Oklahoma City Thunder reportedly traded for Kevin Porter Jr. of the Houston Rockets and two future second-round picks. Unfortunately, after the trade, the Thunder's official Kevin Porter Jr. plan revealed it may not be the troubled cager's final stop.

The 23-year-old combo guard will be immediately waived once the deal is made official, per sources in a report by ESPN. The main gist of the Thunder-Rockets trade deal is the future draft assets included in the deal.

On the side of the Rockets, they will be taking in Victor Oladipo and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and sending their two future picks, a 2027 second-round selection from the Minnesota Timberwolves and a 2028 second-rounder from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Thunder.

The Thunder will have to pay Porter Jr. the $16.9 million remainder of his salary as part of the four-year partially guaranteed $82.5 million deal he signed with the Rockets.

For the Rockets, it saves them $5.5 million in salary.

Porter's NBA future not looking good

Kevin Porter Jr. is dealing with legal issues and is facing second-degree strangulation and third-degree assault, to which he has pleaded not guilty. Authorities arrested him in September for reportedly attacking his girlfriend, former WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick, at a hotel near the United Nations, per ABC News.

However, one of those charges was dropped per documents obtained by the New York Post.

"What initially appeared to be a fractured vertebrae was not in fact an injury caused by the defendant," Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Mirah Curzer stated.

Before this incident, the 30th overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft also had a weapons charge in November 2020 while he was still playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, those charges were eventually dropped per Mahoning Matters.
