Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson is reportedly done for the season due to a shoulder injury, according to the latest injury report.

The 21-year-old will possibly undergo shoulder surgery, Jim Irsay told ESPN on Monday, October 16.

The fourth overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft suffered an AC joint sprain in his right throwing shoulder in the Colts Week 5 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Indianapolis has spent the last couple of weeks trying to gather medical opinions on how to proceed with Richardson's status. Unfortunately, Irsay explained that all of these point towards only one direction.

"The most likelihood is he's probably going to be gone for the year," Irsay said. "I mean, it's not definite but [he] probably misses this year and we're going to have to contend with that factor."

Also, there is an ongoing debate on whether Richardson should go under the knife.

"There's debate going, but it's probably going to lead toward surgery in the next week or so," Irsay explained.

The final decision is up to the Colts' QB

Anthony Richardson will have the final say on whether he will undergo surgery. His long-term future is tied to that. There are risks involved, including his NFL future.

With his 2023-24 NFL season likely done, the Colts QB passed for 577 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for four and 136 yards on 25 attempts on the ground in the four games he played, Fox News reported.
