Jimmy Garoppolo of the Las Vegas Raiders has been known to struggle from injuries, and it appears his latest setback has something to do with his back.
Although the Raiders won over Garoppolo's former team, the New England Patriots, 21-17, the two-time Super Bowl champion was unable to finish the game. This was after the 31-year-old did not see action in the second half and was spotted being transported to a hospital to get his back evaluated, per CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson.
Another former Patriots player, Brian Hoyer, took over from Garoppolo in the second half. He got the nod over Adrian O'Connell, who started in Week 4 for the Raiders with Garoppolo sitting out due to a concussion, USA Today pointed out.
How is Jimmy Garoppolo?
The Raiders are now awaiting the result of Jimmy Garoppolo's evaluation. As of this writing, Raiders coach Josh McDaniels says he knows that the 31-year-old was brought to the hospital but could not provide an update, NFL.com reported.
"I know he (Garoppolo) left, and everybody knows that he left," McDaniels said. "They are just doing tests you know and making sure they take care of all that stuff. I do not have an update on Jimmy."
Against the Pats, Garoppolo was noticeably uncomfortable before the first half came to a close. He was able to walk on his own to the locker room with the Raiders up, 13-3.
Jimmy Garoppolo was 14-of-22 for 162 yards, a touchdown to Jakobi Meyers, and an interception in the first half.
