In response to reports suggesting the Kansas City Chiefs are interested in bringing back defensive end Frank Clark after his release from the Denver Broncos, head coach Andy Reid addressed the situation on Monday, October 16.

The 65-year-old coach was non-committal when asked about the team's actions concerning Clark's free agency.

"We love Frank. Right now, we're just talking through some things there. There are a few things you have to look at when you do that. That's kind of where we're at. We haven't done anything to this point," the two-time Super Bowl champion mentor said.

During his four seasons with the Chiefs from 2019 to 2022, Clark made three Pro Bowl appearances in-a-row in his first three seasons and was part of the team's two Super Bowl victories in Super Bowl LIV and Super Bowl LVII.

Clark recorded five sacks in the 2022 regular season, followed by an additional 2.5 sacks during the postseason.

Short tenure with Broncos ends

Clark signed with the Denver Broncos last June in a one-year deal worth $5.5 million, which could reach $7.5 million with incentives.

However, things did not go as planned for the 30-year-old, and it was reported that he agreed to forfeit almost $1.7 million of his salary to facilitate a possible trade before the team released him on Friday, October 13.

Clark's statistics for the Broncos showed only two tackles and no sacks in the two games he played for the team.
