The Chase Claypool situation has ultimately concluded for the Chicago Bears on Friday, October 6.
The team has successfully traded the wide receiver, along with a 2025 seventh-round pick, to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round pick.
Standing at 6-foot-4, Claypool adds depth to the Dolphins' wide receiver group, who recently lost Erik Ezukanma and River Cracraft to injuries.
Bears general manager Ryan Poles already gave hints that he would be trading Claypool early yesterday after he extended his best wishes to the player for the rest of his career.
The 25-year-old was a healthy inactive for the Bears during their Thursday Night Football game against the Washington Commanders yesterday, which resulted in a 40-20 win for Chicago.
"That's an exciting opportunity. For us, it felt like a situation where there might be a role to carve out for him," Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said about acquiring the former Notre Dame player.

Key Dolphins player placed on injured reserve
Meanwhile, the Dolphins will be without left tackle Terron Armstead for at least four games after he was placed on the injured reserve list, but it is not expected to be a season-ending injury.
The four-time Pro Bowl selection sustained a knee injury against the Buffalo Bills last Sunday, October 1. Armstead's move to injured reserve creates an available spot on the Dolphins' 53-man roster for Claypool.
