Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams was hoping to make a triumphant return on Monday, October 2, against the New York Giants after missing the last 20 games due to a torn quadriceps on the opening match of the 2022 season over a year ago.
Instead, the 27-year-old sustained a head injury when he took an incidental knee to the head during the first possession of the game, and he was ruled out for the rest of the evening by the independent concussion doctor appointed jointly by the NFL and NFLPA.
Adams remained on the ground briefly and appeared visibly shaken when he got back up. Standing proved challenging, and he required assistance from the Seahawks trainers to get to his feet.
After learning his return was cut short, the 2019 First Team All-Pro was visibly upset and angrily confronted the doctor.
The NFL is now considering disciplinary action for Adams' livid outburst during the game, according to league insider Adam Schefter of ESPN.
