Adam Copeland, best known as Edge in the WWE, officially made the jump to All-Elite Wrestling (AEW) in a move that hardly surprised wrestling fans.
It was already speculated here on Sports World News last month that the Rated-R superstar would make the jump to AEW.
That was all made official when the 49-year-old made a surprise appearance at the WrestleDream pay-per-view, signaling one of the biggest signings of the promotion, USA Today reported.
And on cue, it was hardly surprising to see some WWE fans disappointed even if the fate of the former heavyweight champion with his previous employer was no longer in his hands.
Copeland aired his side in a series of Twitter posts, clarifying that he still loves the WWE and is now looking forward to new challenges - something he has been known for.
"I don't buy into this odd mentality of one company or the other. It's weird. If you took offense to that, take a walk, get some fresh air, and soak up some sunshine. It's wrestling. An amazing gig. But still, it's wrestling. Relax. It's supposed to be fun," part of Copleand's message read via Cageside Seats.
Copeland's storyline with Cage is perfect
Aware of his star power, there is no better way to kick off his AEW coming than to start a feud with his former WWE tag team partner, Christian Cage.
That surprise appearance hints at that happening. Following word that the decorated WWE star will perform full-time at AEW, that storyline will likely make headlines soon.
