The Colorado Buffaloes suffered their second consecutive loss on Saturday, September 30, bowing to the USC Trojans, 48-41.

Despite the setback, Buffs coach Deion Sanders remained proud of his boys for their efforts in that game.

"You have nothing, not one thing to hang your head down on... You could've quit. You could've tapped out... I'm so damn proud of y'all, man. Now you understand what we are," Coach Prime said to his Buffaloes players after the game in the locker room.

The Buffs entered the game with huge odds stacked against them. Making it doubly hard for Sanders and the Buffaloes was that they missed the services of Travis Hunter and Shilo Sanders. This left a huge void on the defensive end for Coach Prime and company, ESPN reported.

Caleb Williams hails Shedeur Sanders

Undoubtedly, the Buffs made a huge effort against the Trojans despite being undermanned. But facing a team led by Caleb Williams, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, USC proved too much for Deion Sanders and company.

Regardless, Williams marveled at the Buffaloes and praised Shedeur Sanders for his performance with the Buffs.

"He's been ballin' to be honest," Williams said of Sanders. "He has good players around him. Good fanbase right now and they're enjoying it as they should."

The Buffaloes will just need to move on and arrest their losing skid. That could happen in their next assignment against the Arizona State Sun Devils on Saturday, October 7, where they are 6.5 favorites to prevail per USA Today.
