Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes are making waves with their hot start in the Pac-12, and many people are taking notice. That includes Big 12 commissioner Brett Yomark, who looks forward to seeing them join the conference soon.
"What's happening is transcending sport," Yormark told 247 Sports. "He's bringing a whole new audience into college football that's obviously focused on Colorado, but generally speaking, bringing a new audience to college football," the Big 12 commissioner added.
There is no doubt that Sanders and his Buffs are drawing a lot of attention, practically a social media show that brings a lot of things never done before.
However, it all starts with Coach Prime, who has practically struck chords rarely heard nationwide.
"When I think about what's happening in Colorado, specifically, and I think about our conference and where we've been going over the last 13 months, there's great alignment. Obviously, I'm looking forward to them joining the conference as I am Arizona, Utah and Arizona State," the 56-year-old quipped.
But before that, Sanders and the Buffaloes need to take care of business. After three wins, the Buffs will travel to the Autzen Stadium in Oregon this Saturday, September 23.
Sanders, against all odds
The Ducks are heavy-betting favorites over the Buffaloes, per SI SportsBook, although that is unlikely to ruffle Coach Prime.
Sanders is aware of the improved defense of the Ducks. However, he sees flaws and believes the Buffs can exploit them.
"I think they have one turnover this season offensively. They're pretty stout up front; it's going to present a challenge for us to run the football like every dern week it's a challenge for us," Coach Prime said during his weekly radio show via Oregonlive.com.
