Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers are still technically bound for now, heading into training camp. And as most know, the seven-time All-Star is standing pat on his request to be moved - particularly to the Miami Heat.

A straight NBA trade involving Damian Lillard is unlikely to happen, especially with the demands of the Trail Blazers on the table, Bleacher Report reported. Portland wants draft picks and young players that would be part of the deal, something that the Miami Heat do not necessarily have.

Hence, the logical move is to get a third NBA team involved in Damian Lillard trade talks. But the problem is that the same team could take interest in the 33-year-old All-Star guard, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN pointed out.

"Draft picks, young players, there might be a team that their best asset is a veteran player that doesn't interest the Blazers, but there's a third team who might want to take on that veteran and then send, whether it's a young player or picks in part to Portland. So I think they've been in communication with a lot of teams, trying to find a structure of a deal that can get them a Damian Lillard trade," the scribe stated on Friday's episode of NBA Today.

He added that the Blazers may have been discussing Lillard trade scenarios with other teams in the past weeks. Unfortunately, Lillard made it clear that he is not interested in any other team and would only be at the training camp of either the Blazers or the Heat, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported.

As for Lillard, his longing to be part of the Miami Heat continues. The sixth overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft put up a cryptic post on Instagram, suggesting he would be a "future Heat legend."

This was eventually deleted, but it seems clear where the 6-foot-2 guard's heart is.
