A former teammate of LeBron James, Dwight Howard, got into the Team USA to the Paris Olympics discussion, suggesting that he be added to the players under consideration or else.
The 37-year-old former NBA player remains updated with the developments of USA Basketball, including the non-medal finish of the Steve Kerr-backed quintet at the recent FIBA Basketball World Cup held in Manila, Philippines.
Howard, known for his funny side, posted on Instagram and said he would take his act to Taiwan if he were not considered.
"I like what I see but don't leave ya boy out ...if ya leave me out I'm playing with Taiwan and I'm dropping 85 #nba #basketball #legends," the one-time NBA champion's IG caption read.
In all, the IG post of Howard is considered a playful joke since he has found a new life in the T1 League in Taiwan. He signed with the Taoyuan Leopards in 2022 and is one of the polarizing figures in the league, ESPN reported.
Howard won't make it to the Paris Olympics
As far as suiting up for Taiwan, it would make sense if he was a citizen of Taiwan. Unfortunately, he may not have enough time to fix that by the time the 2024 Paris Olympics comes around.
Shifting to Team USA, LeBron James is reportedly interested in suiting up for the team, according to sources in a report by the Los Angeles Times.
Further, the four-time NBA champion is said to be recruiting several other big names to form a super team - a move seen by most as a redeem team to make up for their disappointing 2023 FIBA World Cup run.
