Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer revealed that the team plans to roll out an intriguing and unique way of selling tickets for their home games.

Speaking on Clippers forward Paul George's Podcast P show, the former Microsoft executive said they plan to sell a "season pass" option for the team's home games.

Ballmer lamented the current season ticket system, wherein a season ticket gets sold to a different person, possibly a road fan, if the holder could not make it to the game.

The 67-year-old added that it is why many fans of the opposing team can enter home games.

"So, the season pass you can share, like on Netflix. You can share it with 3 or 4 people, but it's got to be those 3 or 4 people. You can't just sell it to somebody else," the ninth-richest person in the world said.

Ballmer also emphasized that the season pass product would be available at a low price point, which can make more fans with limited resources attend games.

Clippers to get a new arena soon

The team has shared the Crypto.com Arena, formerly known as the Staples Center, with intercity rivals Los Angeles Lakers since the 1999-00 NBA season.

However, that will soon change with the opening of their own playing venue in Inglewood, California.

Named Intuit Dome, the arena is set to open at the start of the 2024-25 NBA season, giving the team a taste of home that is all theirs.
