The New York Knicks have racked up two straight wins with an average winning margin of 34 points, beating the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night and Orlando Magic on Friday, with superstar forward Carmelo Anthony scoring less.

"I wanted to do something a little different to see if it worked," Anthony said as quoted by ESPN.com. "Me scoring 30 wasn't working."

Anthony took just 12 shots against Brooklyn, scoring 19 points. The next game, he only had 10 attempts to finish with 20 points. During the team's nine-game losing streak, he averaged 23.2 attempts and scored 28.5 points.

Predictably, the Knicks offense has become less predictable with the ball moving well and players making the extra pass. Anthony, who has been labeled as a ballhog throughout his career, has been willing to pass out of double teams. During the Nets game, the Knicks made 16 out of 27 triples and six players were in double figures in scoring. The next game, the Knicks were 17 of 34 from the three point arc and seven players scored in double figures.

"There'll be a time again where I need to step up and score those points," Anthony said. "But the last couple games, the guys stepped up big time and it just allowed me to make them better and they made me better."

The Knicks may have started the season at 5-13 but will have a more favorable schedule facing teams with losing records like the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks and Orlando Magic.

"We got tired of losing," Anthony said. "Whether we figured everything out in two games, that's yet to come."
