Patriots: Tom Brady Sends Cool Message to Fans in New England Return

NFL icon Tom Brady was in attendance during the New England Patriots season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles at the Gilette Stadium on Sunday.

The 46-year-old posted a picture of the six Vince Lombardi trophies he helped the team win on social media.

"Good to be back," the quarterback said.

The team held the "Tom Brady Appreciation Day," wherein the three-time NFL MVP was honored during halftime. Brady notably wore his old No. 12 Patriots jersey during the festivities.

"One thing I am sure of, and that will never change, is that I am a Patriot for life," Brady said in his speech.

Brady notably left New England for Tampa Bay during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, preventing a farewell ceremony.

"I'm excited because our fans never really got a chance to say goodbye in a proper way," Patriots owner Robert Kraft said before the ceremony.

The team also installed a new lighthouse during the stadium renovations, and Brady became the first person to ring the bell - aka Keeper of the Light to hype up the fans pregame.

Robert Kraft waives waiting time for Brady's HOF induction

The team announced that Brady will be entering the Patriots Hall of Fame on June 12, 2024.

Kraft is making an exception to the four-year waiting time for the induction of Brady, who is unanimously considered the greatest player in franchise history.

The induction date has a significant meaning, with six being the number of Super Bowls that Brady won in New England and 12 being his jersey number.
