The Arizona Cardinals are on the clock and need to decide who among Clayton Tune and Joshua Dobbs will be their starting quarterback when the 2023-24 NFL season kicks off.

Week 1 of the new NFL season is just days away. As of this writing, there remains no clarity on who the Cardinals will go with. Tune and Dobbs are both listed as starting quarterbacks, ESPN reported.

The Arizona Cardinals will face the Washington Commanders in their Week 1 assignment for the upcoming NFL season.

If the words of Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing are to be considered, it appears Arizona is having a difficult time deciding on who between Tune and Dobbs will be their starting play-caller, AZ Central reported.

"The way they work, the way they work together, type of personalities they bring to it. So it's been a lot of fun over these last couple of days, couple of weeks and excited to see kind of where it goes moving forward," Petzing said.

Dobbs may have an edge over Tune

However, the 36-year-old coach hints at Dobbs having a slight advantage based on how the veteran QB has been responding in the offseason and training camp.

"I think just some of the nuances that you've kind of tweaked and changed over the course of the offseason and training camp and some of those little details and familiarity with some of his teammates, and just getting a feel for how they see things, how they come out of the top of routes, what they're thinking in the run game," the Cardinals offensive coordinator said.
