Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Julio Urias has been arrested and charged with felony domestic violence late Sunday evening, according to MLB insider Jeff Passan of ESPN.
The alleged incident happened in the parking lot of the BMO Stadium after Urias and others attended a Major League Soccer match between Lionel Messi's Inter Miami and Los Angeles FC, and the Dodgers pitcher was arrested before midnight.
The 27-year-old was released early Monday at 4:47 a.m. after posting a $50,000 bond. He will have a court date on September 27.
The Los Angeles Dodgers released a statement on X, formerly Twitter, saying that they are aware of the incident involving Urias.
"While we attempt to learn all the facts, he will not be traveling with the team. The organization has no further comment at this time," the statement read further. The MLB is also investigating the incident.
Urias will miss the next road games from Wednesday through the weekend against the Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals.
Not the first domestic violence incident for Urias
The two-time All-MLB Second Team was previously arrested outside a Los Angeles mall in May 2019 for domestic battery. Charges were later dropped when the woman claimed she fell by herself after the pitcher was accused of pushing her.
Urias was still suspended for 20 games by the MLB for violating their Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Child Abuse Policy.
