WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus will be in one of the matches at WWE Payback set for September 2, which will likely be punctuated in a steel cage match during Labor Day weekend at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
WWE icons like Stratus usually compete for a limited time. But it seems the 47-year-old plans to wrestle on and hinted who her next target will be on Instagram, which WrestleTalk captured.
Curiously, that next opponent will also be in action at WWE Payback. The match referred to involves WWE Women's World Champions Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez.
Anything can happen in that WWE Payback card. Rodriguez has reason to pull off a win over Ripley, although getting some outside help cannot be discounted.
It could come from either her Judgment Day cohorts or even Stratus herself.
Why would Stratus help "The Nightmare?" To get a title shot and be the WWE champion once more.
Of course, there is also the possibility that Stratus may face Ripley without the Women's World title in tow. The three-time WWE Babe of the Year appears to be enjoying her run, taking on the promotion's big women names and helping them gain more attention and clout.
Besides, Stratus needs a new storyline and Lynch concurred to this, airing her side when she appeared on on WWE's "The Bump."
"I think the culmination of this five, six-month feud should be as brutal as possible," the 36-year-old said.
