Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers is the latest player to give his take on the controversial comments made by United States track and field star Noah Lyles.

The 23-year-old cager, who is in the Philippines as a member of Team USA for the 2023 FIBA World Cup, shared that he doesn't see the point of Lyles' jab against the NBA.

"I really don't understand the point of it because the NBA is the best league in the world. "It wasn't the most intelligent response. We're going to let that fly," Tyrese Haliburton said on Lyles' world champion' title comments.

Rather than dwell on the controversy that the 26-year-old track star made, Haliburton would prefer to focus on the task at hand - that which is to help the United States basketball team win a gold medal.

"We're going to let that fly and just going to move on," Haliburton added in a report by Spin.ph.

Noah Lyle's controversial world champion debate overshadowed his huge feat at the World Athletic Championships 2023 in Budapest recently. The 26-year-old bagged three gold medals after ruling the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 4x100 relay.

Noah Lyles' World Champion' comments not dying any time soon

Unfortunately, the Olympian went a bit beyond himself by taking a shot at the NBA.

"I watch the NBA Finals, and they have 'world champion' on their head. World champion of what? The United States?" Lyles said.

That move drew a howl from several personalities, including Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns, Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors, and American rapper Drake.
